Lynn O’ Toole is an occupational therapist, who completed her Bachelor and Masters in the Discipline of Occupational Therapy, Trinity College Dublin. Her primary interests, academically and clinically, are health promotion, activity participation and self-management interventions in those with chronic conditions. In line with these interests, Lynn completed her masters on the development and piloting of OPTIMAL, an occupational therapy led chronic disease self-management programme for those with multimorbidity in primary care settings. Lynn was awarded a HRB Research Training Fellowship to complete her PhD on a definitive RCT and process evaluation of the OPTIMAL intervention. She is being supervised by Dr. Deirdre Connolly (Discipline of Occupational Therapy, TCD) and Prof. Susan Smith (Department of General Practice). Prior to being awarded the HRB fellowship, Lynn worked in a university based occupational therapy service for students with disabilities. She also lectured in the Discipline of Occupational Therapy, Trinity College Dublin. Lynn is a member of the Association of Occupational Therapists of Ireland and the World Federation of Occupational Therapists.
